UPDATE: Mariah Carey And The Killers To Perform At MTV 2005 VMA

Mtv announced today that Mariah Carey and The Killers will perform at MTV 2005 Video Music Awards. The show, hosted by P. Diddy, will take place at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida, on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at 8:00PM

"Mariah and The Killers have both had amazing years -- taken together they have sold more than 8 million albums, set up camp on the Billboard charts, and spawned numerous hit singles," said Christina Norman, President, MTV. "We are working closely with Mariah and The Killers to present two of the most sensational show-stopping performances for this year's VMAs."

Mariah was nominated for Best Female Video and Best R&B Video for "We Belong Together".

Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and also ruled the Pop 100 and Hot R&B Hip-Hop charts.

Among the celebrities that will perform during the show are Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, and Green Day.

The official sponsors of the "2005 MTV Video Music Awards" are Gap, Jeep, Pantene, Pepsi, Revlon, Saturn, Taco Bell, and Virgin Mobile.
