The death of one the most controversial female stars of our times has already begun to create a huge amount of interest both in the media and on the Internet. While it was first reported that the 39-year-old model could have died because of heart failure, the police never ruled out the question of her having overdosed.
Smith was reportedly feeling 'ill', as if she was about to come down with the flu for a couple of days before her fatal hour. However, many media outlets speculated that she was on drugs for most of the time, especially as her last television appearances were eerie, to say the least. Last night, she retired to her posh suite at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Hollywood (the purpose of her US visit was that of purchasing a new boat), saying that she planned to go straight to bed.
A police spokesperson confirmed that Anna's lifeless body was discovered by her personal nurse. While the nurse was calling the police, her bodyguard tried to administer her CPR but to no avail. By the time the ambulance got there, she was already dead - eyewitnesses say that her body was carried to the ambulance completely covered.
Now, sources tell CBS 2 that police officers (who are now investigating the case and searching her apartment for clues) have already found two very important pieces of evidence: illegal narcotics and prescription medication. There is yet no information as to whether these two substances were the cause of Anna's death, a thing that will be established after the toxicology report.
Meanwhile, 'Access Hollywood' spoke to another source, who claims that Anna did not die of an overdose but because she had chocked on her own vomit, after taking too many prescription pills. 'According to a credible source, an employee of Anna Nicole Smith found her in her room in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit. The same source claims that Smith took what was referred to as a "children's sedative", and had "kept passing out" before her death.', 'Access Hollywood' writes.
Aside from these two theories (which are the most circulated ones), there is also talk about a conspiracy theory, in which Howard K. Stern kept Anna drugged all the time and finally killed her. 'Entertainment Tonight', in return claims they have spoken with another 'witness' who states that she died of a severe, unattended head injury dating from a couple of nights ago.
Today, an autopsy will be performed on Smith's body and its results will be made public at a later date. Keep your eyes on this space for more details.
