"Mrs. Smith" has been has been offered the much coveted role of the new Bond girl.
Angelina Jolie is said to have loved the script for "Casino Royale', but hasn't signed the deal yet.
Apparently, the Hollywood actress wants her role toughened up.
In her opinion, a Bond girl is first of all an action girl.

"Angelina would rather play a baddie than eye candy", The Sun quoted a set insider as saying.

The producers are said to have considered Angelina as the perfect choice for the part of Vesper Lynd, a Russian double agent who beds agent 007.

Angelina Jolie, who has just finished filming "The Mirror", which hits theatres in July 2006, is currently working under the direction of Robert De Niro for "The Good Sheperd", together with Matt Damon.

The actress, who has recently received an award for being a UN goodwill ambassador, took her time to decide if she accepts the part of the new Bond girl, which will mark another collaboration with her Lara Croft: Tomb Raider co-star, Daniel Craig, who plays agent 007.

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie has received three nominations at the 32nd annual People's Choice Awards, announced in Hollywood on Thursday.

The actress was named for the categories: Favorite Female Movie Star, Favorite Female Action Star and, ironically, Favorite On-Screen Match-Up along with Brad Pitt, for 'Mr. And Mrs. Smith', according to E!Online.

Brad Pitt has also received a nomination for Favorite Leading Man.

The awards are to be voted by the American public and presented to the happy winners in a ceremony on January 10.
