With a faster processor, the same design

Mobile phone maker Motorola is getting ready to make one of its already released devices available in more markets around the world, it seems. The handset in question is the Motorola Motoroi, which has been released previously in South Korea, and which should soon land on the UK market. However, it seems that the device set to make an appearance in the UK won't be the Motoroi we all know, but an upgraded handset, at least this is what the company stated recently.

The handset vendor has brought to the market in Taipei another variant of Motoroi, namely the Motorola XT701, and confirmed plans to release the aforementioned model in the UK, Pocket-lint reports. The just released XT701 comes with the same design as the Motoroi, though it boasts support for faster HSPA connectivity, and has only a 5-megapixel photo snapper.

Among the specifications the UK-bound version of Motoroi should come around with, we can count an 8-megapixel photo snapper with Xenon flash, 720p video recording capabilities, along with playback features, not to mention that it should arrive with a mini HDMI connector, the same as the original device does. However, Pocket-lint notes that the components inside the handset are expected to differ from those packed into the original flavor.

Motoroi should arrive on the UK market with a faster processor, yet no specific details on it are known for the time being. Android 2.1 is expected to be included into the mix, the same as on XT710, and it seems that there are great chances that Motorola would throw the MOTOBLUR user interface over Google's mobile operating system (Motoroi and XT710 come without the solution).

One thing that is certain is that, in case the rumor pans out, UK mobile phone users will soon have yet another appealing device to choose from. Google's mobile platform has gathered a wide range of fans in the country, and is expected to keep momentum, and the release of new handset will certainly help it in its attempt. However, it still remains to be seen when the device is brought to the market, so stay tuned for more details on the matter.
