MMA fighter Gina Carano and stellar cast bring the action to new Steven Soderbergh film

Get ready for one helluva action movie: think female “Bond” and you get Steven Soderbergh’s latest movie, a B-rated effort called “Haywire.” The UK trailer for it has just been released, months after the international one dropped.

The film, which comes out in theaters worldwide in January 2012, sees MMA fighter Gina Carano in a James Bourne-esque scenario, in which she turns on the very people who she used to work after they try to off her.

Clearly – and somewhat predictably – they fail and will live to be sorry for even trying.

Carano goes up against a stellar cast, including Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton and Michael Fassbender, none of whom seems to be able to be her match in terms of fist throwing and gun shooting.

Again, think James Bourne.

While this could turn out to be a decent thriller, voices online are already saying it will most likely go straight to DVD. The bad voiceover doesn’t do anything to help change that impression.
