Why would the British, Swedish, German and Norwegian Apple stores be down? Wait, let me rephrase that: why would "only" the British, Swedish, German and Norwegian Apple stores be down? After all, if Apple is prepping something big for Mac/iPhone/iPod users, everyone on the globe deserves it. Looks like the Cupertino folks fancy Europe lately.

Whether they like the Europeans' way of life or not, or how they
use Apple products, it doesn't make much difference because Apple obviously has something lined up for Europe alone, as revealed by TUAW. For all we know, it could also be something to show that Apple doesn't like Europe's Mac/iPhone/iPod users, bringing the stores down for good in light of too much jailbreaking and few update installations. Yes, it's a joke. That's not going to happen, ever. Not like this anyway.

In other news, Corsair is offering Mac users "something a little more hardcore" in terms of memory, according to TechConnect Magazine, releasing a new, high-end, low-latency DDR2 SODIMM kit. Think the Brits and everyone else mentioned above are getting refurbished Macs?

"The Corsair brand is synonymous with high-performance PC memory modules," said Jack Peterson, VP of Corporate Marketing at Corsair. "These Mac Memory SODIMMs featuring new SPD settings in conjunction with our high-quality standard chip screening process allows Corsair to offer the first ever enhanced performance laptop memory for Mac."

Users can of course buy the kit consisting of two 2GB modules and do the swapping themselves, but Apple does it even better. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cupertino folks taking advantage of Corsair's offer to sell better-equipped Macs for the same price they currently go for, like they did with its iMacs last month.

Codenamed VSA4GSDSKIT667C4, the 4GB kit, as mentioned above, consists of two 2GB modules. The RAM is certified to work at a 667 MHz frequency with latencies of 4-4-4-12, according to the same source. Those who wish to upgrade will need to fork over around $160.

Be sure to leave a comment if you hear anything about them Apple stores being back up. Let's call it teamplay as we'll also be keeping our eyes peeled for any changes.
