Their networks' defenses are too low

You got hacked? How come? What do you mean you have no security measures installed?! That might sound silly to some, but it's a fact in the United Kingdom - one of the world's most evolved countries has problems with cyber-security. To get down to the cold, hard numbers, 40% of the organizations in the UK admit to encrypt less than 25% of their data, while about 5% are not using any security modules, as Vnunet tells us.

This is quite a serious issue, close to 50% of the organizations in the UK are easy pickings for hackers, with only a bit more than half being harder to hack into. The thing is, the situation was even worse - last year, there were even more people with no security measures installed.

Network traffic encryption is very important if one firm wants to stay safe, that's why special software needs to be deployed. As Gary Clark, president of SafeNet in EMEA stated for the same site, the level of encryption required will obviously vary from organization to organization, but companies should be looking to encrypt as much network traffic as possible, if not all of it. I couldn't agree more - hackers are already very tricky, and use a lot of schemes, why help them by not caring for security?

With data flowing freely inside company networks, it's very easy for hackers to intercept and retrieve it and a great concern is the fact that firms don't care enough for their security. Perhaps they don't see Internet hackers as a real threat. As Clark has said to Vnunet, instead of an increase in security implementation within companies, the exact opposite happened within the last 12 months.

The SafeNet people that are also the ones who have done the survey I was talking about in the first phrases, have posted a list of solutions on their website, so if you think you might be insecure, do pay them a visit.
