Rugby fans, beware! Fraudsters have set up websites on which they purport to be selling tickets to the Rugby World Cup 2015.

The Metropolitan Police advises people to purchase their tickets only from the official Rugby World Cup 2015 website, and avoid third-party sites.

“If you don’t buy your ticket through the official channel, and it turns out to be a fake or never arrives, you risk being left out of pocket and not being able to get to a match,” authorities warn.

Another recommendation is to use a credit card when buying tickets online because this payment method offers better protection when it comes to guarantees, non-delivery and fraud.

In general, try to avoid websites you don’t trust. Or at least, check out reviews before making a purchase, since if it’s part of a scam, others have most likely complained about it.
