Microsoft released its 2012 Law Enforcement Requests Report yesterday, revealing that it has received more than 75,000 requests last year from governments from all over the world.

But just like International Business Times writes, the United Kingdom authorities took the leading spot when it comes to Skype, as local police requested the access to account details of 2,720 users. The United States comes second with 1,154 requests, followed by Germany with 686.

As for the total number of requests, the UK is only third with 9,226 requests to get personal details of Hotmail, Outlook.com and Xbox LIVE users, while Turkey tops the ranking with 11,434 such cases.

Microsoft said that, in most cases, it complied with governments’ requests, but the company emphasized that no conversation over Skype has been tracked and sent to state agencies.
