UK - New Apple Retail Store Opens Its Doors on Saturday

Be sure not to miss entering the Grand Opening Sweepstake

British Apple fans can finally rest as the much-delayed Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes Apple retail store is finally opening its doors. Saturday is said to be the big day, with the first 1,000 customers nabbing a free T-shirt (Apple-styled, of course). There's also the usual Digital Lifestyle Collection, which features a black MacBook and silver iPod nano that are just waiting to be won.

ifoAppleStore explains why the pre-Christmas opening was

a miss (if you haven't known about this already, you're probably going to have a bit of a laugh), pointing out to "mis-sized glass," leading to construction delays:

"Construction delays last year forced Apple to push back the grand opening of the Midsummer Place (UK) retail store. It was set for a late summer opening, then before Christmas, but mis-sized glass reportedly forced the company to skip the holiday season entirely."

The Grand Opening will be celebrated with a sweepstake and a variety of presentations and workshops - "all free of charge", according to Apple, while the the first 1,000 people through the doors on Saturday (March 1st) will receive a free Apple T-shirt, the Cupertino folks claim.

Those who enter the Grand Opening Sweepstake can win a Digital Lifestyle Collection that includes a 13-inch black MacBook and a silver 4GB iPod nano. All you have to do is submit your entry before 8:00 p.m. on Monday (March 3rd), and of course go through the Terms and Conditions.
