The United Kingdom government wants to select an organizational standard that best meets requirements for effective cyber risk management.

Currently, there are several standards, which might be confusing for companies that want to improve their cybersecurity posture. That is why the government asks those who want to support a certain standard to submit evidence in its favor.

Organizations interested in submitting evidence are asked to express their interest by April 8. A guidance for submissions will be published by April 30.

October 14 is the last day on which evidence can be submitted.

The organizational standard should protect organizations against “low-end” threats such as malware, social engineering and phishing, it should put in place an assurance framework and an independent audit, and it should be recognized internationally.

The complete list of requirements is available here.
