Finally, some good news for Chinese communications equipment providers Huawei and ZTE. Australia and the United States have revealed that they’re determined not to allow the firms anywhere near their critical infrastructure, but the United Kingdom government doesn’t seem to be concerned.

Cabinet Office representatives have stated that the UK has very strict evaluation processes for all products, not just the ones from China.

They have stressed that Huawei equipment in particular is thoroughly investigated before being allowed to enter the British market, IT Portal reports.

After the US House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee published the report in which businesses were advised not to use Huawei and ZTE products, both companies rushed to deny the allegations, highlighting the fact that they’d been transparent throughout the investigation.

Furthermore, China’s Ministry of Commerce called the accusations “groundless” and based on “subjective suspicions.”

In the UK, the situation is different. In September, Huawei revealed its plans to invest a considerable amount of money in the country and the Prime Minister welcomed the decision.
