14 DAY TRIAL // The latest Edward Snowden leaks include a PowerPoint presentation containing what seems to be three images of unidentified flying objects (UFOs). However, that doesn’t mean UFOs exist. Instead, experts believe the slides show that governments are into mind control games.
The presentation comes from Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and contains a total of around 50 images. Three of them show what appears to be flying saucers.
Experts have told Yahoo News that the images in the slides have already been dismissed as being fakes. They’re old photos that have already been studied by experts, one of them representing an out of focus picture of a seagull, not a UFO.
While they don’t demonstrate the existence of aliens, the latest Snowden leaks prove an important thing. Author of the Haynes UFO Investigations Manual, Nigel Watson, has told Yahoo News that the slides demonstrate the fact that the government is into mind control.
The presentation that includes the UFO images is entitled “The Art of Deception: Training for a New Generation of Online Covert Operations” and it’s produced by the GCHQ’s Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group (JTRIG).
Watson says the slides are for the NSA and other intelligence agencies.
“Government agencies are still aware of the power of the belief in UFOs, and that they are willing to use the Internet to exploit these beliefs,” Watson said.
“Such deception can be used as a means of covering-up more mundane terrestrial activities (like the testing of secret aircraft or military exercises) or to undermine the credibility of ufologists,” he added.
“The overall point of the presentation is to discuss how the Internet and modern media can be used to discredit people and to spread deception. Unfortunately, there is no explanatory text with the UFO pictures, so we can only speculate about what point they were being used to make.”
One of the UFO pictures was taken in 1950 in Redbud, Illinois. The second one is from a video filmed in Mexico by Arturo Robles Gil, and the third photograph, the one of the seagull, was taken by a man in Cornwall, UK, back in 2011.
While the files he has stolen from the NSA are being released by the media, Edward Snowden is in Russia. Later this month, he will speak about the impact of NSA spying on technology at the SXSW Interactive Festival. Since the event is held in the US, he will speak via videoconference.
