The PC version of the browser is now up for grabs

After getting millions of downloads on mobile platforms, UC Browser has finally arrived on the PC today, with a version that can be used on any version of Windows, starting with XP and ending with 10 TP.

UC Browser is based on Chromium, so it provides almost the same performance and reliability as Google Chrome, while also offering importing features for extensions designed to work with Google’s browser.

In terms of appearance, UC Browser comes with clean looks and a gigantic menu button in the top left corner that allows you to access its main features. It works pretty much like the Firefox hamburger button does and provides you with one-click access to settings, download manager, additional tools, and cloud synchronization.

If you’re an avid UC Browser user who already installed the app on a different platform, such as Android or iOS, you might be happy to learn that cloud synchronization is indeed being offered to seamlessly switch between devices by keeping open tabs and bookmarks.

Plenty of customization options

One of the best things about UC Browser for Windows desktop is the high level of customization offered to users, as you can choose between two different speed dial modes, pick different themes, install new browser add-ons, and switch to a different search engine for the search box next to the address bar.

UC Browser also comes with some special features that promise to boost browsing speed and downloads, but an improvement can barely be noticed when compared to Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Needless to say, there’s more to discover about UC Browser for Windows desktop, so Softpedia’s Windows software review team is now hard at work on an in-depth testing of the app, with results to be published later today.

In the meantime, everyone can give the app a try to see what it brings new to the browser world, so go ahead and download UC Browser for Windows right now.
