UCWeb, the company behind the popular UC Browser on phones and tablets, has released a statement regarding a new acquisition with the purpose of broadening its scope on iOS mobile platforms.

UCWeb has acquired Guangzhou Teiron Network Technology, a company that maintains an iOS app marketplace called PP Assistant, which is also one of China’s top destinations for game operators.

In a statement released to the media, UCWeb said, “Android constitutes much of our 400 million global user base and it makes us a top mobile app marketplace and mobile games operator.”

“With the addition of Teiron Network’s strength in the iOS market, we are now stronger and more balanced with a solid No.2 position in mobile gaming market in China,” the company added.

“With broad and consistent reach on two largest mobile operation systems, we’re poised for growth faster than ever,” UCWeb said.

UC Browser is available in 11 different languages on all major operating platforms, and its developers have business partners scattered all across the globe, including network carriers, advertisers, phone manufacturers, content/service providers, and others.
