A memo from UC Mobile posted just hours ago on the developers’ forums reveals that the company is in need of iPhone users to test the next major version of UC Browser for iOS devices.

Targeting all UC Browser followers and iPhone users, the message states, “UC browser is recruitig [sic] iphone [sic] users to test the UC Browser iphone [sic] version 9.0.This test includes an installation package and a questionnaire exploring v9.0 and future new features.”

The notice adds, “If you have a jailbreak iphone [sic] and feel interested in UC browser, we sincerely invite you to help us test the version.”

Yes, in case you haven’t heard, UC Mobile likes to make the first release of any major version on jailbroken devices. Beta testing is also usually carried out by owners of hacked iDevices, for security purposes.

Apple only allows final-state software in its App Store, and demo / trial versions of any apps are not permitted either. If you happen to be wielding a jailbroken iPhone and feel the urge to help UC Mobile shape up the next version of their popular browser, hop aboard!
