Students at the University of California at Berkeley now have power back on campus after a blast that prompted evacuations yesterday. The entire campus was evacuated, but students can now return to the dorms.

The Monday explosion took place while engineers were trying to fix a power outage caused by copper wire theft.

Witnesses have described seeing a flame shoot up at the height of two floors, before hearing a blast.

"The explosion was about two stories high and as wide as a two-lane street. [...] We're very fortunate there were no serious injuries," UC Berkeley spokesman Dan Mogulof tells Fox News.

Eleven buildings were left without power, prompting class cancellations. However, most classes have resumed today, as campus officials declared the threat over.
