UbiQUiO was presenting their newest Smartphone in the summer of last year, the
501, and although not bad as features, the device wasn't all that brilliant. Now, the company is preparing an upgrade, a Pocket PC that, although looking like your regular Treo-like handheld targeting your average business user, comes with quite a complete set of capabilities.
The 503G does pack some pretty impressive
features that should suit just about any type of user's needs. It runs Windows Mobile 6 and includes an Intel Bulverde processor running at 520 Mhz, 64MB RAM, Bluetooth, with stereo headset support, and WiFi for connectivity, 3G capabilities, HSDPA for speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, a 2 megapixel camera with micro focus and VGA camera for video conferencing.
Storage space won't be much of a problem with 256MB of ROM and a built-in MicroSD card slot for further memory expansion. The UBiQUiO 503G will work great as a productivity tool for the business user that can stay up to date on email, appointments and tasks while on the move. In the spare time, the handheld also provides a bunch of entertainment features and can be used for taking snapshots, listening to music or viewing video files on the large 2.4 inch color screen with a QVGA resolution.
The QWERTY keyboard, a feature that has become a must in this type of device, will ensure easy and convenient document and email composing. The UbiQUiO 503G Pocket PC measures 123 x 65 x 15.7 mm, with its shape being somewhat similar to Palm's Treo devices.
The quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA device is expected to start shipping on the 20th of June. Also, those interested can apparently pre-order one for $654.95
here.
