U.S. Cellular came a long way from being a small carrier and has become one of the most popular network operators among consumers.

To show customers that it can keep up with other major carriers’ portfolios, U.S. Cellular has recently announced that it is expanding its offer with the launch of seven new Android smartphones, including its first 4G-enabled smartphone, two tablets and the carrier's first Windows Phone 7 device.

U.S. Cellular plans to launch four HTC devices beginning this summer, from which one of them will be a Windows Phone 7 smartphone.

In addition, the carrier will also launch the 7-inch HTC Flyer tablet in early fall, along with two additional Android-powered phones from the Taiwanese handset manufacturer, which are expected to launch in the same time frame.

Our new smartphones and tablets are packed with faster processors similar to those in personal computers for improved web browsing, video streaming, playing games and being more productive on the go,” said Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.

Furthermore, U.S. Cellular stated that the company hopes to roll out its first wave of 4G LTE devices some time in November, most of them operating Google's Android mobile platform.

Two Android smartphones will be launched this fall, including a Motorola device with dual-core 1 GHz processor and a 4.3-inch touchscreen, as well as one of the slimmest and lightest smartphones available on the market. The latter is manufactured by LG and features a 1 GHz processor, 4-inch touchscreen and ultra-bright LCD display.

The carrier's Android lineup will be completed with the launch of several entry-level smartphones from Samsung and Huawei, which are expected to be announced this fall, as well.

Ultimately, U.S. Cellular confirmed plans to release two new messaging devices from Samsung that have a slide-out QWERTY keypad and 2.8-inch touchscreens.

Customers who switch to U.S. Cellular also get unique benefits with all of our devices, like new phones faster without continuously signing contracts, and join the happiest customers in wireless,” concluded Perez.
