Although U.S. Cellular is not one of the major carriers in the United States, the operator is trying to offer customers better deals than most other carriers. If these deals are worth switching to their network it’s only up to you.

Today, the carrier sent us a memo confirming a few changes that will be available starting February 16. In an attempt to increase its customer database, U.S. Cellular is offering new customers a $100 activation credit.

However, the deal is only available for customers who are willing to sign up for one of U.S. Cellular’s value-packed plans. If they do that, they can also receive up to an additional $150 cash back when they trade in their old smartphone via carrier’s Trade-In Program.

There’s more to it, as the carrier also announced it has dropped prices on its entry-level and high-end smartphones.

The move is meant to make room for other newer smartphones that will be announced at the end of the month at the Mobile World Congress, but also to refresh the carrier’s portfolio.

Customers who are willing to switch to take advantage of U.S. Cellular’s new prices can get the Samsung Repp and Huawei Ascend II Android phones for just a penny, as well as the BlackBerry Curve 9350 for $49.99 and the HTC 7 Pro for $129.99. Furthermore, Motorola ELECTRIFY is now priced at $129.99 after mail-in-rebate.

The good news is that U.S. Cellular has some great deals aimed at customers who prefer prepaid plans, as they will be able to get any of the five Android-powered smartphones in its portfolio, including the HTC Wildfire priced at $99.99 and HTC Hero S available for $299.99.

It is also worth mentioning that the carrier has also lowered prices on its feature and messaging phones. For example, customers can purchase the Samsung Chrono for only $19.99 and the LG Saber for $39.99.

Last but not least, U.S. Cellular also announced it would waive the activation fee when customers choose a prepaid plan valued at $50 or more.
