Existing customers are not required to change to a Shared Data plan

U.S. Cellular has just announced new Shared Data plans for both consumers and small businesses, which allows customers to build the plan that meets the needs of their families and/or employees.

According to U.S. Cellular, existing customers do not need to change to a Shared Data plan. Customers can choose up to 10 devices that their want their Shared Data plan on and then choose the amount of data that think it will suit their needs.

The carrier’s plans start at 300 MB for $40 and go up to 75 GB for $560 per month, whereas business customers can select up to 25 devices to share up to 100GB for data for $750 per month.

U.S Cellular also confirmed tethering is included on all plans. Keep in mind that smartphones have a monthly device connection charge of $40, while basic phones are $30, and hotspots and wireless modems are $20 and tablets can be added for $10 per month.

Last but not least, the US-based carrier announced that for a limited time, those who add a tablet, hotspot or modem to their Shared Data plan get the monthly device connection charge waived until the end of 2013.
