U.S. Cellular has just introduced new prepaid plans for new and existing customers. The carrier announced the immediate availability of three new plans featuring nationwide coverage with no roaming charges.

Each new prepaid plan is especially tailored for specific needs, so customers can choose to switch to a new plan whenever their needs require it.

According to the carrier, existing prepaid customers who already sign up for one of U.S. Cellular’s older plans can keep it for as long as they want, but they can also switch to a new plan.

The new prepaid plans promise to offer customers voice, text and data options at different price tiers. For example, customers who own a smartphone can choose a prepaid plan that offers them either 1GB or 2GB of mobile data.

New and existing prepaid customers can choose one of the following new plans from U.S. Cellular:

- Nationwide unlimited voice, unlimited messaging, 2GB smartphone data - $65/month; - Nationwide unlimited voice, unlimited messaging, 1GB feature data - $50/month; - Nationwide 400 minutes voice, 400 text messages, 400 picture messages - $35/month.

The first two prepaid plans are almost mandatory for customers who own a smartphone and can be paired with the following Android-powered phones: Samsung Galaxy S II, Motorola ELECTRIFY, HTC Merge, Samsung Mesmerize, Huawei Ascend II, HTC Wildfire S and Samsung Repp.

The cheapest prepaid plan is recommended to customers who own a feature-phone and don’t need mobile data. It can be paired with the following messaging phones: Pantech Verse, Samsung Character, LG Saber, Samsung Freeform 4, Pantech CDM8635US and Samsung Chrono 2.

The most expansive U.S. Cellular prepaid plan used to cost $70 USD, but the carrier slashed the price to $65 USD. The mid-tier plan was previously priced at $60 USD, $10 USD more expensive than the current price.
