Tyrese Gibson and Paul Walker met and became very good friends on the set of “Fast and Furious” so, when Tyrese visited the crash site where Paul and a friend met their untimely demise over the weekend, he was so overwhelmed with grief that he couldn’t stop crying.

Family, fans, and collaborators are still in shock over the tragedy that occurred when the car Paul was in sped into a tree and exploded, also killing the driver. Fans rushed to make the site into a memorial, after what was left from the car (which wasn’t much to begin with) was removed.

You can see Tyrese’s emotional visit in the video below. He’s carrying a single yellow flower and he’s seen walking around aimlessly, as if he’s trying to make sense of what he’s seeing but failing to do so.

He sets the flower down, picks something up, and then leaves. All the other mourners around him are silent.

As it turns out, what he picked up was a piece of charred something from the crash. He posted a photo of it on his Instagram, explaining he wanted something to remember Paul by.

“I will keep your energy with me forever #AshesOfAnAngel fast family around the world we live you and we love you Paul is the heartbeat of this franchise and were gonna see to it that his energy and presence lives on forever #myhearthurtssobad,” Tyrese wrote.

Paul Walker and his friend had just attended a charity event and were on their way to Los Angeles. He was on a break for Thanksgiving from shooting “Fast & Furious 7” in Atlanta.

The crash occurred north of LA in Santa Clarita, with TMZ saying it was just yards away from the car shop they had planned on stopping by to have someone look at the car because it had been a pain for the past few days. Right after impact, the car exploded.

Police reports indicate that speeding was a factor in the accident.
