Tyler Perry’s latest movie, “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor,” was trashed by critics and even by some of Perry’s fans (for his decision to cast Kim Kardashian as a marriage counselor), but it still raked a fortune at the box office.

With ticket sales of over $49 million (€37.6 million), “Temptation” has also recently attracted its first lawsuit, from a screenwriter who claims Perry ripped off his story and passed it as his own in the movie.

“In the suit, William James says the plot is similar to ‘Lovers Kill,’ which he wrote in 2009. The lawsuit is light on details... it just says both films center on a married couple... the wife is tempted by another man, and the affair ruins the marriage,” TMZ reports.

James can’t prove that Perry got his hands on a copy of the script, but he states in court documents that he (James) gave it to Oprah’s people in the hope that it will eventually get to Perry.

Neither Perry nor Lionsgate would comment on the allegations made in the lawsuit.
