The manufacturer says this is the “lightest and smallest eReader”

With more and more tablet manufacturers dropping their prices steeply below the $100 / €73, eReaders are bound to get cheaper as well.

It’s the case of the Txtr Beagle that has been launched in select markets across Europe and sells for a meager price of $60 / €22, reports The Digital Reader.

In Hungary, for example, the Beagle will be adopted by the Deutsche Telekom carrier which is going to offer it bundled with some smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Young, Sony Xperia M or LG L7 II on a two-year contract. Customers willing to purchase the eReader with this deal, will only pay $30 / €22 for it.

The Beagle offers a 5-inch E-ink screen and is capable of holding 5 titles at a time. Interestingly enough, this little eReader can’t actually display books but needs the txtr Android/iPhone app to convert an ebook from ePub or Pdf to a collection of page images.

Pretty weird if you think about it and the reason why the Hungarian carrier is offering with a smartphone bundle. The Beagle also has 4GB of storage, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
