PacketVideo has just announced the launch of its myTwonky (beta) media service and Twonky Video application for Android devices

Both products are free and provide Android fans with access to their libraries of music, photos and videos or any other content directly from the smartphone.

With Twonky Video application users can search online for any video clips or access personal video content stored on their phone or home network.

In addition, the myTwonky service also contains the application's patent pending Beaming technology, which allows users to beam content found within a myTwonky account with any TV or device connected to the Internet.

According to the developers, the Twonky Video application is fully compatible with Airplay-enabled devices, including Apple TV, as well as UpnP and DLNA devices.

Nowhere else online can you aggregate both content found across the Web and personal media stored on your home network in one place. With myTwonky you can discover new music, videos and photos without ever having to type a keyword into a search bar,” said Osama Al-Shaykh, CTO, PacketVideo.

The second product announced by PacketVideo, the myTwonky (beta) service is a Web portal customized by users, which can be used to search the Internet for new content based on user's personal video, photo and music preferences.

Registration is free, so users can begin creating specific video channels and bookmarking various content to watch them later, as soon as they receive their account details.

In addition, users can select streaming radio stations by genre and view their music libraries in the same location.

Integration with social networking services, such as Facebook and Flickr is provided as well. Content can also be shared using myTwonky directly withing the social network account.

Our goal with myTwonky and the Twonky Music and Video apps was to reimagine how people collect and consume media content. We’re creating a truly immersive experience that lets you easily engage with your existing media library, what you find on the Web, things you already love and things you are about to love,” concluded Jim Brailean, CEO, PacketVideo.

Twonky Video is now available as a free download in the Android Market and is fully compatible with devices running Android 2.0 and up.
