They literally double as desks, retractable keyboard tray and all

When Lian Li first introduced its idea of a true desktop PC case, it wasn't clear whether or not that ever so useful retractable platform existed, the one where the keyboard usually sits.

As it happens, we just got the confirmation that it does, indeed, exist. And it's just a tug away too.

Lian Li actually has three desk-like PC cases on the way in addition to these two, and it intends to show them all off at Computex 2014, taking place in Taipei, Taiwan between June 3 and 7.

Why the company has decided to launch the DK-01X and DK-02X right now is anyone's guess.

The newcomers have adjustable leg height, though the standard is 805mm / 31.7 inches and the top height is 835mm / 32.9 inches.

CPU coolers up to 180mm / 7 inches tall and power supplies up to 280mm / 11 inches in length are supported, plus video cards of up to 410mm / 16.5 inches.

The main difference between the two is that the DK-01X has one 360mm bracket for radiators, while the DK-02X has two 240mm Brackets, plus different HDD bay numbers: 10 for the former, 8-9 for the latter (the DK-02X comes in smaller system and “workhorse-oriented” versions, you see).

There are some other connectivity and port localization distinctions, ultimately resulting in the different prices: $989 / €989 for the DK-01X and $1,189 / €1,189 for the DK-02X.
