The “improved” “Two and a Half Men,” with Ashton Kutcher instead of Charlie Sheen may have premiered to record ratings but it’s showing the first signs that it may not have staying power. Ratings are down, figures reveal.

The good performance of the season premiere of the show can be easily explained by interest build up along many months of scandal, media speculation and Charlie Sheen’s sheenisms.

No less than 29 million people tuned in to see what the show looked like without him and, most importantly, whether having Ashton Kutcher on board would justify returning to the same show the following week.

As it turns out, many deemed it wasn’t worth it, The Improper writes, citing Nielsen figures. Ratings have been slowly going down since the season premiere.

While the decrease is not something CBS bosses should worry about just yet, it’s there.

“Since [the premiere], the show’s ratings have been in retreat. On Monday (Oct. 10), only 17.7 million viewers tuned in,” the abovementioned media outlet informs.

“The show finished in third place behind ratings winner ‘Monday Night Football,’ which featured the unbeaten Green Bay Packers against the Atlanta Falcons,” adds the publication.

“But more tellingly, the show slipped behind CBS’s ‘NCIS,’ which drew 19.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen ratings,” says The Improper.

It and many other media outlets believe the drop in ratings could be directly linked to the ongoing media scandal Ashton started when he cheated on his wife Demi Moore with a 23-year-old girl he picked up in a club.

Fans, however disagree: the show is simply not the same without Charlie, and the dialog is uninspired and not funny.

As such, it’s not worth watching anymore.

Reports online claim that Ashton too is worried about the drop the show registered and might even be thinking he could end up without a job next.
