Last year saw the release of Two Worlds, a RPG developed by Reality Pump for both the Xbox and the PC. Now, publisher SouthPeak Interactive has announced that a sequel to the game is in development, named Two Worlds: The Temptation, with a release date set for the autumn of 2008.

The first game was set in the fantasy world of Antaloor
where the player was free to roam, complete the mission of the seven factions featured in the game and choose his objectives as he wished. Moral options were always present and the player had to choose whether he wanted to earn the respect or the fear of the in-game NPCs. Each of his actions had clear cut consequences and contributed to the overall ending of the game.

The main issues with the game were the more-than-standard plot, which revolved around an awakened orc God and the necessary battle to send him back into the realm of the dead, and the lack of character of the game world. Even if it was huge and open-ended, there weren't enough monsters and enough NPCs to keep a player entertained. There were also some performance and graphics-related problems, especially on the Xbox version of the game. Critics made the inevitable comparison to Oblivion and the game was found lacking.

The sequel promises to completely overhaul the graphic engine and eliminate all the issues in this department, while offering a ton of new content. Much of the game will take place in Oswaroh and the Drak'ar Desert, in the East of Antaloor. The plot wasn't revealed yet, but missions are said to be more challenging and complex, with moral ambiguity being more prevalent.

Melanie Mroz, the CEO of SouthPeak Games, said: "Two Worlds has a huge fan base across the world, and all will be happy to hear that The Temptation will be exactly what they've been hoping for in a sequel. The team at Reality Pump has taken to heart all the comments made by the players and will incorporate massive improvements that are sure to please and surprise everyone."

When more Two Worlds: The Temptation details become available, we'll be sure to bring them to your attention.
