Two pictures of the much-rumored Android-powered G2 mobile phone have been leaked on the Web today. The images have made it to gizmodo, and they are a little less blurry than the photos we have seen before with the device. For the time being, it is rather uncertain whether the phone will still be branded by T-Mobile.

From what can be seen from the leaked photos, the G2 should resemble the G1 a lot, as it seems to feature about the same display as its predecessor and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The next-to-come handset will hit the market without a physical keyboard and it also seems to be thinner that G1, which places it quite close to the Touch 3G and Touch Viva mobile phones.

One more interesting fact is that it does look like the HTC Sapphire, which has been recently seen in the leaked HTC 2009 roadmap. This would also suggest that users might get the phone through both T-Mobile and Vodafone.

According to the news, the phone is expected to come to the market sometime in May this year. Hopefully, it will make it to the shelves by that time, and the previously reported software issues won't delay its release. In addition, we should also note that the T-Mobile G1 handset is slated for release on several European markets by the end of the month.

It seems that European users will soon be able to enjoy the entire T-Mobile G family of Android-powered handsets. We're waiting for official word on G2 to learn more of its specs and capabilities, and perhaps we'll also be able to find out about a more exact launch date for the device. Until then, take a look at this soap-like, smooth device that will soon head your way.
