They are marketed as the BlackSapphire SL range and ship with 3D glasses

This week saw the arrival of quite a few HDTVs, and even some UHD TVs, so the arrival of two JVC models is not shocking at all, although saying "arrival" might be a bit much at the moment.

After all, the two new BlackSapphire SL HDTVs will not come out until later this summer, and even then, they will only act as forerunner for larger models.

Then again, diagonals of 42 inches and 47 inches are already large enough. Anything above that and it becomes hard to get the TVs through the door.

It's a good thing displays have become so thin. Otherwise, navigating corridors and block staircases would be impossible.

Anyway, the 47-inch and 42-inch JVC BlackSapphire SL HDTVs are called SL47B-C and SL42B-C, respectively.

In that same order, they will cost $799 / €611 – 799 and $899 / €688 – 899, which really isn't so bad for 3D panels.

Then again, with the prices in the tens of thousands that we've been finding on labels of UHD TVs, our perception might be a bit skewed. It's not easy to feel that a price is high when compared to those monsters. But we digress.

The two JVC panels use Edge LED backlighting, a 120Hz processing engine and the XinemaSound 3D virtual surround sound system.

Since they are Smart TVs, they also possess built-in Wi-Fi connections and support for apps like Slignbox, Netflix, Vudu and Pandora media streaming services.

USB ports (one each) are included as well, along with three HDMI ports, component and composite video cables, and a 3.5mm "music port" jack (again, one for each TV).

Finally, thanks to the refresh rate of 120 Hz, the JVC BlackSapphire SL TVs can play 3D content (passive). Four pairs of glasses are included in the shipment, according to Cnet. No clue what the sizes of the larger models will be.
