MSI, one of the world's leading vendors of desktop platforms and PC motherboards, has just announced the introduction of two new products, the NF750-G55 and the NF980-G65, two desktop platforms designed for the latest line of AMD Phenom II processors. Both solutions are based on NVIDIA's latest chipsets for AMD processors and are expected to provide customers with support for high-performance, cost-efficient alternatives to a new desktop PC.

Kicking off with the NF750-55, which has been designed on the NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI, users will be able to build their new desktop PC on MSI's latest AM3 motherboard. The board will provide them with support for Phenom II and Athlon II processors, which can be combined with the dual-channel memory modules that are supported through the on-board DDR3-1600 memory DIMMs. Additional features include the integrated DirectX 10 graphics, two PCI-Express x16 slots, Active Phase Switching technology and support for both SLI and Hybrid SLI. The board also boasts Easy OC switches, one eSATA and five SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectivity.

The NF980-G65 is also based on an NVIDIA nForce chipset, namely the nForce 980a SLI, which will provide users with support for a high-performance desktop platform. In addition, it also comes with the NVIDIA NF200 chip, which enables the triple-SLI support on the board's three PCI-Express slots. Combining AMD's latest processors with the new NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards and the dual-channel DDR3 memory, users will be ready to take advantage of a high level of performance.

Unfortunately, MSI hasn't announced any details regarding the availability and pricing of its new desktop mainboards. However, the two should soon become available in stores, providing users with a new option for a Phenom II platform for their new desktop PCs.
