14 DAY TRIAL // HTC has definitely lost its mind if the leaked photos everyone got to see in the past week are of real handsets. A lot of time has passed since we've managed to see so many devices leaked in such a short period of time from the same mobile phone manufacturer. If I remember well, it might just be that this thing has never happened before.
The first ones we got to see were the HTC Wings, the Erato (Star Trek's successor) and the Sirius. Next came the HTC Kaiser handheld and the Elf, two Pocket PCs which run Microsoft's latest mobile operating system-the Windows Mobile 6 Professional.
Now I stumbled upon two more devices HTC could be working on at the moment, in total secrecy, if it weren't for the leaked photos and, as in the case of the other 5 handsets I've mentioned above, for the leaked spec sheets.
Although the specification sheets seem to be complete and very accurate, I have a strong feeling of doubt that they will remain unchanged if these rumors prove to be true and HTC decides to send them in to the retail stores for all of us to buy and enjoy.
The first one is the HTC P6300, aka Panda, a Pocket PC running a Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 3.5 on a Samsung SC32442 40 MHz processor and sporting 256 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM memory, an outstanding 3.5 inch 65k colors TFT touchscreen display (if you're thinking about the device being huge, you're right because the spec sheet says it measures 5.1 x 2.8 x 0.7 inches), tri-band GSM radio, MMC, SD and SDIO memory expansion card slots, GPRS Class 10, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a 2 megapixel digital camera with camcorder capabilities.
The second is the HTC P5500, wearing a Nike internal codename, also a Pocket PC, but with a better software platform, namely the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional. It has a Samsung S3C2443 400 MHz processor, 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM memory, a 2.6 inch 65k colors TFT touchscreen display, quad-band GSM/UMTS radio, microSD memory expansion card slots, and FM radio receiver, a Qualcomm MSM7200 gpsOne GPS chipset, a 2.7 megapixel main digital camera and a secondary one for video calls.
In the connectivity area, its spec sheet shows the Bluetooth 2.0, the USB 2.0 with miniUSB connector, and completes the picture with the GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPDA and HSUPA data transfer technologies.
For now, all the details we know about these handsets are from unofficial sources so, if you want to know if any of these handsets are for real, you will have to wait for an official HTC announcement as everyone else.
