7 new phones have been unveiled by Nokia in attempt to comply with the basic needs of people on the go who look for mobile communication as a primary service ahead of all others. Models Nokia 1650 and Nokia 2660 are two of the products of this type.

Both phone models meet the basic requirements of a cellular that is used for making calls and for text messaging first of all, whereas entertainment fades to lower priority ground. Both Nokia 1650 as well as Nokia 2660 are equipped with FM Radio and support MP3 ringtones.

Furthermore, they share a display of 128x160 that supports up to 65,536 colors, but neither has a camera. As to emphasize the similarities between the two, they both enter the Connect Contemporary Nokia phone category.

Still, Nokia 2660 is a clamshell phone with a slick design which, unlike the Nokia 1650 model, has also GPRS multislot class 10 included.

"Creating a mobile phone that combines an intuitive user interface and easy-to-use functions with an attractive design is at the heart of Nokia's entry market strategy." said Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President at Nokia. "Whether the consumer is a first-time buyer who has little experience with mobile phones, or a more well-versed customer looking for a new mobile phone for personal or business use, each will find what they need in one of these new products.", he continued. He refers, of course, to the user's basic needs, as any higher demands from these two models prove to be unrealistic.

Both Nokia 1650 and Nokia 2660 will be available in the second quarter of 2007. The estimated prices for them are 55 EUR and 85 EUR without taxes.
