Due to their volatile, intense and ever-changing natures, the fashion world and the world of beautiful, ageless, impeccably dressed celebrities are tightly tied together, well beyond the recent epidemic of celebrity-endorsed clothes, shoes and accessory lines that seem to have taken over the stores. Celebrities have always loved lending the names and faces to glamorous fashion collections and the big players in high-end designer fashion playground have often chosen their muses from among the most beautiful celebrities out there. And if Chanel was happy to declare itself inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, then we can understand that the organic link between fashion and celebrity thrives even when we're dealing with controversy or exceptional situations. Some would even say it thrives particularly if there's also a bit of controversy involved...

The latest, slightly scandalous fashion industry rumor is that British luxury fashion house Burberry gave "it" model of the day Agyness Deyn the boot and dropped her name from the Fall 2008/09 advertising campaign lineup - all because of over-exposure. Word on the fashion street is that celebrity photographer and Burberry's chief advertising visionary Mario Testino declared himself fed up with the hype surrounding Agyness and decided to go for someone younger - and one possible option is the D&G underwear model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. To add insult to injury, there is also a rumor that Burberry is bringing back Deyn's chief rival Kate Moss, who modeled for the brand for their Spring 2002 ad campaign. Stay tuned for more infamous news - bound to come soon.

In the meantime, today's second hot rumor concerns Barbados-born beauty Rihanna who is said to be teaming up with Victoria's Secret to launch her very own lingerie collection. Rihanna, whose past exploits include working with Cover Girl, Clinique, and H&M, is apparently quite keen to expand her endeavors into the fashion world and expand her brand to a funkier, more popular domain - lingerie. "There might be a clothing line on the horizon, maybe underwear", Rihanna stated in a recent interview, but apart from that, we have nothing solid to go on - except, of course, the street buzz. Fingers crossed, and stay tuned for the latest hot rumors.
