Christmas is the time of the gift that won't stop giving, or something along those lines. Nothing that Team Group actually intends to outpicture any time soon. Instead, the holiday is just another thing that can be exploited for money, as usual.

Not that we can really blame it all that much. Pretty much everyone who isn't a missionary or a really, really nice person looks to make money or save money during the Christmas holidays. Any holidays really.

And since Team Group is a company that needs to continue living in a society ruled by capitalism, it goes without saying that it would try to milk Christmas for all it's worth. Like every other company in the world.

Team Group released Team T134 & T123 flash drives

Known unofficially as the winter edition, the flash drives are made with the COB assembly process. COB stands for chip on board, a technique that fuses the storage chips to the shell of the drive, among other things.

It's why flash drives have become so very small, because there's barely any room needed besides the one taken up by the main components.

Not that this is stopping Team Group from making the packaging of the drives large. It had to spread the Christmas cheer somehow and make it obvious.

Humor aside, the Team T123 is laser-engraved with a Christmas tree and snowflake patterns. Is also has a brushed finish or bright diamond cut finish, and can be colored in red or bright blue depending on which you like most.

The T134, on the other hand, is shaped like a glove and has a snowy white coating, plus two color options: “dazzling green and gentle pink.” Whether the epithets really fit is something we'll let you decide. Both drives are waterproof, dust-proof and shock-proof.

Availability and pricing

The Team Group T134 and T123 winter-exclusive flash drives have 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB capacities and are intended as gifts. You'll only be able to find them up for order this winter. Unfortunately, the prices weren't included in the press release.

Still, considering that all other portable storage device makers are likely to release Christmas-themed products, you can be sure that you won't be strapped for options.

The likely abundance is bound to force a reasonable price competition too, so our advice is to wait until the end of November before buying a flash drive as a gift, since tags are bound to be as low as they can get by then. The bad part is that these two drive lines only use USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) not USB 3.0 (5 Gbps). Kind of a shame.
