Yesterday, AppleInsider's Kasper Jade wrote an article about Adobe Photoshop CS3 Beta. Nothing special so far, but what if I tell you that I found out that Adobe Systems Inc. will make available an early public beta of its notorious Photoshop software for Mac this Friday? Not tomorrow, but the day after tomorrow. Woooh! That's so damn close! Since the entire Mac graphics community is boiling under high pressure waiting for the Creative Suite 3 to pop up with native support for the Core 2 Duo processors from Intel, Adobe made the wise move and decided to release a beta of at least a part of the software suite that still has a long way to go to its first beta as a whole. The sources told AppleInsider that Bruce Chizen, Adobe's chief executive, "will formally announce plans for the beta release during the company's fiscal fourth quarter conference call with analysts and members of the media on Thursday." The problem is that no information is available about the fate of the other applications from the suite, such as Dreamweaver, Illustrator or InDesign. The good part is that this Beta expected on Friday is a Universal Binary that works like a charm on Core 2 Duo-based Macs. Another interesting fact is that an advanced version of Photoshop seems to be under development, and its targets are going to be the video and science markets. Some of the features expected for the advanced version include Vanishing Point 2, rotoscoping, 3D file support and a fast fourier transform filter. To download this beta, users will need a valid serial for one of the various Creative Suite 2 versions, and will only be available in English, without any technical support provided, although users are welcomed to send feedback on the Adobe Labs forums. These being said, take your time to watch the countdown clock ticking. At this time, there are less than two days remaining...
