14 DAY TRIAL // OpCambodiaFreedom, the campaign initiated by Anonymous Cambodia in protest against the local government, continues. A hacker group that supports the cause, Team Khmer-Shadow, has managed to deface a couple of government websites.
The targets are the websites of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ecosocc.gov.kh) and the Siem Reap Provincial Hall (siemreap.gov.kh).
In both cases, the attackers have defaced the sites’s homepages. The site of the ECOSOCC is completely defaced, while on the Siem Reap website, the hackers just replaced the homepage’s header image with their own.
Team Khmer-Shadow says that it’s not their intention to “destroy the websites.” At the time of writing, both sites are still defaced.
Earlier this month, the same hacker group defaced the website of Cambodia’s Royal Gendarmerie, and the ones of other Cambodian organizations.
