An airplane has clipped the wing of a second aircraft at Newark Liberty International Airport on Wednesday, May 1.

According to CBS New York, an Airbus A330 used for Scandinavian Airlines Flight 908 hit the smaller ExpressJet 4226, an Embraer E145, at 7:30 p.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration described that the incident took place when the pilot on the Airbus collided with the Embraer right before take-off.

31 people were on board the ExpressJet flight when it was hit, and they had to leave the plane but no injuries have been reported.

ExpressJet made arrangements to allow them to reach their destination - Nashville, Tennessee. The Airbus was headed to Oslo in Norway at the time.

“ExpressJet Flight 4226, operating as United Express, from Newark (EWR) to Nashville (BNA) was on the taxiway in EWR when its tail was contacted by another aircraft.

“All 31 passengers deplaned the aircraft normally and were bussed to the terminal where they are being re-accommodated,” a spokesperson for ExpressJet has stated.
