Mobile phone users fond of microblogging and also interested in the newly launched Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system from Microsoft can now pair the two very easily through a Twitter for Windows Phone 7 client announced officially a few hours ago.

The new mobile application comes from Twitter themselves, and adds to the list of software solutions the company already released for handset users on other mobile platforms out there.

“There is a new addition to our mobile family: Twitter for Windows Phone. This Twitter client is available now for all Windows Phone 7 devices,” Twitter announced via its blog.

“We want you to be able to get Tweets quickly and easily, no matter what device you’re using, and the clean design of the Windows Phone platform is particularly great for this.”

The new Twitter for Windows Phone application comes with all of the features that people enjoy with the other mobile clients from the company, including timeline, suggested users, messages, lists, as well as the possibility to create a new account straight from the application.

This is “a great way to explore Twitter without even logging in. You can sign up for an account right from the app as well. The app is really fast, and we think you’ll enjoy the experience,” the company notes.

According to Twitter, the Windows Phone 7 user interface, dubbed Metro, proves great when it comes to Twitter users, especially given its ease of use.

At the same time, the new design offers users a new way of looking at information on the handset's screen through Pivots, enabling users to swipe left or right to view different information within the same application.

“For example, in Twitter for Windows Phone, you can swipe left or right to move from your timeline to mentions to direct messages,” Twitter notes.

The Twitter for Windows Phone client is the result of a partnership with IdentityMine. Moreover, the company states that the app was built using open source REST API library as the base, Tweet Sharp.

According to Twitter, “IdentityMine will release some significant improvements back into open source for everyone to use.”
