Twitter has already launched its own client for Windows 8, but a new app published in Store could trick you into believing that you’re downloading the official thing.

Simply called “Twitter for Windows 8,” the app is offered with a freeware license and can be installed on both Windows 8 and Windows RT, promising to offer simple features to follow users and their tweets.

The funny thing is that the app description published in the Store is actually a piece of text that describes the Twitter service, so no other details are provided about the client you’re about to download.

While it’s hard to understand how come Microsoft approves such applications to be listed for download, you can always give it a try and check out its features.
