Twitter has had a good relationship with the media, in a way, while some of the old guard journalists and TV people still look at it with disregard, to many it has become an indispensable tool. In either case, the media loves talking about Twitter.

So Twitter is returning the favor, while also making sure everyone knows just how great Twitter is, with the new Twitter for Newsrooms website.

The new site is dedicated to enlightening journalists, bloggers and everyone in between about how to best use the site for news gathering and sharing.

Google hasn't made any big announcements, besides a tweet linking to the new site, but the resource can actually come in rather handy, though it's intended audience is a bit vague.

"We want to make our tools easier to use so you can focus on your job: finding sources, verifying facts, publishing stories, promoting your work and yourself—and doing all of it faster and faster all the time," Twitter writes on the new micro-site.

"We know you come from different generations. Some are native to the pilcrow, others native to the hashtag. You began your careers in different media: radio, print, broadcast, online and mobile," it adds.

"But you share a common bond: the desire to make a difference in the world, bringing reliable information to the communities you serve," Twitter continues.

The site focuses on three areas, Report, Engage and Publish. In each, it showcases useful tools and ways of gathering information, engaging with the public and spreading your stories on Twitter.

Unlike most websites of this sort, there are some useful tips in there, things like its advanced search page, how to bypass the search rate limit and so on. However, some are saying that Twitter may be preaching to the choir here, those that might end up on the site already know how valuable Twitter is.
