14 DAY TRIAL // A new flavor of Twitter for BlackBerry handsets is now available for download in the BlackBerry App World, namely version 3.2.
With the new update, users should be able to find friends and content over the social networking site much easier than before, while also enjoying a nice range of new features and enhancements, RIM announced.
The new application release brings along Expanded Tweet Details, as well as a Find Friends option, and Quick Follow functionality.
According to RIM, the improvements brought to the tweet details screen will provide users with the possibility to have a glimpse at a tweet link or a photo.
“Available previews may contain a summary including a preview of the headline, a quick snippet, as well as the publisher and author. The information you need presented to you for quick on-the-go reading,” the company notes.
Moreover, users will be able to find people they know much easier of Twitter, all courtesy of integration with the BlackBerry address book.
“New to Twitter? You’ll be able to quickly find friends when they first join Twitter using the new ‘Find Friends’ button located on the Welcome Screen,” RIM explains.
“For you experienced users, you’ll see which of your BlackBerry contacts have recently joined Twitter by using the ‘Find Friends’ button located on their Profile Page. I love this feature, because friends of mine are constantly joining Twitter – and this lets me find them effortlessly.”
Additionally, there is the quick follow option included in the new application release, which provides owners of BlackBerry devices with the possibility to follow users with a single tap on the button that appears next to their names.
As mentioned above, the application can be found in the BlackBerry App World today, via this link. However, it might take a while before it becomes visible in all markets around the world.
