14 DAY TRIAL // An updated build of the Twitter application is now available for download for the owners of BlackBerry 10 smartphones, namely version 10.2.2.1.
According to BlackBerry, the application can now deliver a better experience than before, and it should easily prove to be one of the best ways to stay connected with Twitter all the time.
One of the main changes in the new app release is the addition of Home Timeline Photo Preview functionality.
“Tweets with Twitter photos let you be part of the moment. Image thumbnails are now displayed on the Home timeline for all pic.twitter.com images – just tap the image to reveal the full screen version,” a post on Inside BlackBerry explains.
Furthermore, the new flavor of Twitter for BlackBerry 10 has been enhanced with BBM support, which means that users will be able to tweet and update their BBM status at the same time, the aforementioned blog post explains.
Starting with version 10.2.2.1 of the mobile client, users will also be able to reply to tweets much easier than before.
A built-in Tweet composer has been included in the application, and it will appear when the user taps on a tweet to see its details.
At the same time, the new software iteration delivers a series of search improvements, which make relevant accounts appear in search after users enter their query.
The Tweet details screen will also allow users to easily report spam or abuse, the aforementioned blog post explains. Additionally, there is also a series of performance improvements included in the new release, so that users could access their content faster than before.
The new Twitter 10.2.2.1 has been released globally with support for all handsets running BlackBerry 10 version 10.0 or higher. However, it might take up to 24 hours for it to emerge in BlackBerry World in all markets out there.
