Twitter, one of the most popular social applications, has just received an important update on Android platform. The new version of Twitter is much faster and crashes less frequently, developers claim.

Aside from the usual bug fixes and stability improvements, developers added quite of lot of enhancements to the Search and Discovery functions.

With the least version of Twitter, Search shows the most relevant mix of people, Tweets and photos. Users will be able to take advantage of the Discover options that delivers a stream of Tweets, accounts to follow and more. Simply pull to refresh or scroll to see more.

Developers also promise all links are now opened instantly when users tap on URLs in their stream. In addition, Connect will show interactions like new followers, retweets and mentions by default.

Obviously, users will be able to switch to “view mentions only” from the Settings menu. Last but not least, improved support for Arabic, Farsi and Hebrew has been added as well.

Twitter 3.7.0 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
