A new version of the Twitter for Android client is currently rolling out to users who joined the beta testing program, providing them with a new experience, courtesy of a modified interface.

Twitter 5.0.0 beta has received a new UI only a few weeks ago, but it seems that the micro-blogging company is aiming at making even more changes to it.

Available for download at the moment as version 5.0.0 beta 18, Twitter for Android now comes with only three tabs, namely Home, Discover, and Activity.

Furthermore, as Android Police notes, the new version of the mobile application has a series of items moved to the action bar, including messages and notifications.

Furthermore, the compose button is no longer included in the action bar, but can be found at the bottom of the screen, in a line of semi-transparent buttons.

Starting with this version of the application, navigation can be performed only via the aforementioned three tabs and the action bar. The profile link can be found in the overflow menu.

The application still doesn’t sport a tablet UI, it seems. However, users should keep in mind that this is only a beta release, and that Twitter might implement other changes as well before pushing a final flavor out.

As mentioned above, the Twitter 5.0.0 beta 18 app has been released only to those who are part of the beta testing program, which means that the rest of us won’t receive it.

However, the APK for the software has already emerged online, and those who would like to take it for a spin can do so even if they are not registered beta testers. You can find the download link below.

No specific info on when a stable Twitter for Android release will bring these changes to all users out there has been provided as of now.
