During the last several months, Twitter has taken a stand in regards to the online abuse taking place on the social platform.

It would seem that Twitter has not finished its battle against cyberbullying and trolling, as it has recently released a new feature known as the “quality filter.” It was apparently discovered by tech entrepreneur Anil Dash, who tweeted about it, praising Twitter’s initiative.

However, a Twitter representative declared for TechCrunch that the new enhancement is currently available just for some verified users. Furthermore, it would seem that the feature is not entirely a novelty, but more like an improved version of an already existing Twitter feature, commonly known as “tailored filtering.”

This new change regarding the privacy of Twitter users makes us expectant to see what the company has in store for the future.

A constant battle against trolls

Ever since Twitter CEO Dick Costolo declared for The Verge that "We suck at dealing with abuse and trolls on the platform and we've sucked at it for years," they seem to be putting a lot of effort into turning the platform into a safer place, especially after he agreed to take all responsibility for the events that have taken place so far due to a rather poor protection system.

With this new tool, users should be able to ignore any kind of abusive tweets coming from ill-intended people. And since verified users are usually the main target for trolls around the web, the new feature seems to have been designed to allow them to remove any kind of tweets which they might consider aggressive or inappropriate.

It is not yet known whether the option will be available for Android or desktop, or if non-verified users will also be able to access it, though many people believe that it should be made available for all its users, given that most people on Twitter have issues with Trolls, not only famous people.
