Over the past months, the Syrian Electronic Army – the hacker collective that backs the Syrian regime – has hijacked dozens of Twitter accounts. The hackers’ latest targets are 4 Twitter accounts of CBS and two operated by FIFA, including the one of FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

However, the hacktivists’ official Twitter account, @Official_SEA, remained untouched, at least until now.

Shortly after the CBS breach, Twitter suspended the @Official_SEA account. But the hackers were not discouraged, so they set up another one, @SyrianCyberArmy, which was also suspended by Twitter.

As Sophos’ Graham Cluley highlights, the hackers have started playing a cat-and-mouse game with Twitter.

The Syrian Electronic Army set up the @SEA_Official3 and @Official_SEA5 accounts, both of which have been suspended.

Currently, the @Official_SEA6 account is utilized by the hackers, but it’s uncertain for how long.
