As tensions in Gaza are rising, not to mention rockets, the conflict, though decades old, feels different this time. Both the Israeli military and Hamas are actively describing their exploits on Twitter, continuing the conflict online. It gets even more interesting as there are now groups in the US that are
asking Twitter to remove the accounts linked to Hamas, citing laws in the US which prevent companies from providing service to terrorist groups.
This puts Twitter in an unenviable position. The only course of action for Twitter is to take no action if it wants to maintain any shred of legitimacy as a public for free speech.
Twitter hasn't said anything so far and it probably won't do anything voluntarily. It may be forced to do so by law, though that is somewhat unlikely.
