Twitter customers may come across posts which claim that the social media site is about to start charging for its services. It’s nothing but a scam that’s after login credentials.

Twitter’s @safety reveals that the message may come via direct message (DM), which can make it even more legitimate-looking.

The website that the victims are taken to is unknown, but judging by the fact that the social media network calls it phishing, it’s most likely a page that replicates the Twitter login screen.

Users are advised to be on the lookout for such tweets. If you come across them, make sure to report the spammer.

Also, make sure you never enter your credentials on untrusted websites and always use strong passwords to protect your accounts.
